Taking horses for starting of April for barrel and rope horse training, also available to condition horses. Horses must have a minimum of 60 days.

References available upon request.

$500 for barrel training or conditioning. 
$750 for rope horse training.

 If requesting horses to be hauled and taken to jackpots additional costs will be added.

In business for the past 35 years, Nugent Ranches/Anchor O (Mark & Randa Nugent) buys, sells, trains, trades and raises horses. If you need a horse, we will have it or we'll find it for you whether it is pack, pony, ranch, dude, pickup, roping or barrel racing. As well, we train professional roping (head, heel, calf) and barrel horses and also take outside horses to train.

Mark Nugent is a 3rd generation cowboy. The 1987 Canadian Professional Champion Calf Roper and Rookie Of The Year, Mark has been a Canadian Finals Rodeo Qualifier 17 times as well as a CFR go-round & average winner. Mark has qualified for the $50,000 final round at the Calgary Stampede 4 times. Mark is a skilled horse trainer who trains not only professional rope horses but horses used also for other areas of the rodeo arena and for packing, children, ranch work and dude strings.

Randa Nugent turned professional in 1989 at the age of 12. She was 13th in Canada her first year on the pro circuit. She has qualified for the Calgary Stampede three times. Randa was the Rookie of the Year, Cowgirl of the Year, All Around, Pole Bending, Barrel Racing Champion at the Alberta High School Rodeo level. Randa has been training all levels of barrel horses from Pro, Amateur, High School, Futurity and Derby. Randa is currently spending her time training/running futurity horse. In 2012 Randa had two futurity horses in the top 10 year end hi-point in the Canadian Barrel Futurities. Junior Champion in the FCA, CCA, CRA and WRCA.

The Perrin Family has a long history of raising horses and we are very proud of them. The Perrin Ranch was homesteaded in 1892 and has been raising horses ever since. Our brand, "" (inverted HP on the left shoulder) was first registered to Hammond & Perrin. Ted Perrin, founder of the Perrin Ranch, continued to use the brand on his cattle and horse ranch. The brand has been in the Perrin Family for four generations.

The Quarter Horse part of our ranching operation includes all the members of the Perrin Family. Our horses have been consigned to our annual production sale for 38 years.

ROCKING CHAIR QUARTER HORSES

We're a small breeding operation located at Fort Assiniboine AB. For the last 25 years, we've produced quality bred using horses with Major Bonanza, King Fritz, Docs Lena Doc, Skipper W and Docs Tom Tucker bloodlines. For the last couple of years, we've introduced some Dash for Cash, Jet Deck and Bar Hemp bloodlines. Our old combinations of breeding have proven to be good Rope, Barrel and Penning horses. With the bloodlines that we are crossing now, we are confident that we will continue to produce top quality using horses.

When in training, our youngsters aren't on a 30, 60, or 90 day timeline. We realize that they are all different thinking individuals and are thus treated as so.

We have both indoor and outdoor round pens as well as indoor and outdoor arenas.

Our rope prospects are trained using our "Heel'O'Matic" or " our Re-Run Calf Roping dummy", then on to live cattle
