'Derek' does fabulous work. Unfortunately, no matter what time during business hours you call, no one answers this phone number and your calls are not returned. Messages left from August 2014 through November, 2014 to book an appointment - no reply. Disheartening that after being a loyal customer for 10 years, this is the service that is received.
I used Derek once and only once, if you don't specifically state what you want he will be lazy and in the end screw your horses feet up. I was unable to be there when Derek trimmed my horse at the barn I had been boarding at, when I saw the sloppy butcher job, I brought my farrier from out of town to correct and maintain them from that time forward!
We have been using North Fork Farrier for almost 2 years now and LOVE the job Derek does amd the care he puts into our horses. He is patient with our little pony mare who has stringhalt and did a great job restoring our rescue geldings feet to health and balance. I would recommend Derek any day of thw week and twice on Sunday. He is BUSY and in demand so I suggest some patience in booking and give them time to get back to you. Don't call on Monday expecting a trim on Tuesday. Have some respect for the demands on a good farriers time and stamina... They have treated us and our horses VERY well. Super pleased.
Derek is the best farrier I have ever used! I would highly recommend him!
