Well, I really didn’t want to have to write this... but it has to be disclosed.
ReplyDeleteLast Sunday I had a farrier out “Ken Atkinson” outside of Beaumont(780-298-0422) to put shoes on my horses for the mountains.
He was extremely aggressive to my Geldings that are always pretty good with farrier work. He kicked my gelding in the stomach multiple times/ hit him in the chin with the rasp or his fist.
I told him multiple times to stop and let’s just leave him for now.
I turned my back for a couple minutes to put the dog away.. and came back out to having ken in the round pen with a lariat around my horses neck.. and in a split second my horse exploded and went to try and jump the panel.
Well it ended horribly. Jackson cut his neck open- almost hit the main artery.
Vet was called Immediately.. and within 40 mins arrived at the farm. Jackson needed 5 layers of sutures and a drain tube to put him back together.
And not to mention the time off to recover.
I was very clear with Ken about the costs of the incident and was giving him the benefit of doubt.
But after a week of trying to get ahold of him to pay the vet bill and damages, he still ignores me.
Im writing this because I feel like people should take responsibility for their actions.
Accidents happen, but own up.
Now I am out at-least a grand and he gets away with it. Well I’m sorry the horse world is to small and karma will get you.
Please share so this guy can’t get away with this anymore! And it doesn’t happen to your horse!

ReplyDeleteHas anyone see Ken, please let me know, he owns me $4000.. Do not accept anything from him he is a thief a con man.. I need to know where he is at so I can locate the police and get him arrested.

DeleteKen isn't the only "bad one" its renters like you that deserve to be found and "dealt with."
