CHARITABLE WORK: Ceili Farm's Annual “Roni’s Ride for Wildlife”
WRSE was honoured to participate in this fun event on September 22, 2007 in memory of Veronica (Roni) Irwin. Laura Jackson, a long time friend of the Irwin family, affectionately describes Roni as having “a gentle soul, quiet voice and a ready smile”. She was loved by all the horse boarders at the farm, her family and community. This ride is held annually to honour the memory of Roni, who passed away from cancer in December of 2004. The 3rd Annual Ceili Farm's “Roni Ride for Wildlife” was an absolute success, raising over $5,000 in support of Edmonton's only wildlife shelter! The entire day was filled with laughter, sharing of happy memories and fun activities. All participants enjoyed a trail ride, nature walks with John Acorn and a lovely barbecue.
