Higher Trails Equine Center near Okotoks, Alberta is an organization dedicated to the emotional and physical well being of both horse and human. All our horses come from a background of rescue or rehabilitation needs. We pair up each of our horses with their own person, and that horse is essentially "theirs" as long as they are with Higher Trails. We call this "rider-membership"
Higher Trails currently has 2 openings for rider-members! As a rider-member, you will have:
- unlimited access to your "own" Higher Trails horse 24/7
- unlimited riding & training
- access to all Higher Trails tack and equipment
- opportunities for cattle drives, parades, mountain rides, guided trail rides, etc.
- seasonal e-magazine "for the love of the horse"
- discounts on classes and courses Higher Trails offers
There is no experience necessary!
As a rider-member, there will be opportunities to:
- experience a full "hook" with your horse in the round pen
- learn how to train a greenbroke
- learn how to ground drive
- learn how to bomb-proof your horse
- learn how to properly care for your horse - including administering seasonal medication, assisting the farrier, etc.
