Ron Anderson was born and raised on a mixed dairy farm west of Calgary.
The family converted the dairy business to a horse boarding operation in
1958. Ron worked with his father on building the business and in 1970
they constructed Sylvancrest Stables. This indoor arena and boarding
facility became Ron’s career and he became the sole owner in 1973.
Ron
and his wife Marilyn continue to operate Sylvancrest Stock Farm on the
East side of Calgary. The foundation starting of young horses and their
advancement in the cow horse disciplines is the primary objective.
In
addition Ron has provided horse auction pedigree and commentary for
over 35 years. His voice is familiar throughout the Pacific North West
as a premier agricultural event announcer.
