Active Prohibition Orders In Alberta

Wherever possible and appropriate, the Alberta SPCA seeks to have prohibition orders included in sentencing for convictions under the Animal Protection Act.

The following prohibition orders, relating to convictions arising from cases investigated by the Alberta SPCA, are still in effect.

As related to horses, the offenders are as follows;

Dorothea Eveline Malo - January 14, 2014 till 2016
Malo is prohibited for two years from having direct custody of any horsess. Malo may own horses during that time, but she is not to be the person responsible for their treatment or day-to-day care.

Keith Carsten Petersen - March 12, 2013 for life
Petersen is prohibited for life from owning or possessing any horses.

Robert Lorne Craig - January 29, 2013 till 2023
Craig is prohibited for 10 years from owning any horses.

Paul Troy - October 2012 till 2017
Troy is prohibited for five years from owning horses.

Alois Weirer - June 2013 till 2018
Weirer is prohibited for five years from owning more than 40 horses.
