SLR PAINTS AND QUARTER HORSES

I run a small breeding farm located West of Edmonton, Alberta. I was raised in the horse industry all my life. Prior to raising Paints and Quarter Horses I was involved with the breeding, raising, and showing of Belgian Draft Horses all over North America.

Here at SLR Paints & Quarter Horses, has been established for nine wonderful years. I strive for the utmost excellence when it comes to breeding horses. I love nothing more than to see the birth of what I hope is your next champion. My foals can excel in barrel racing, reining cow horse, cutting, or it be your next best friend that you know you can always depend on.

I have worked very hard and looked high and low to find some of the very best bred mares and stallions for your consideration. It is my mission to produce a well-rounded horse that will do an honest days work out in the field, go the arena and take you to your next championship ribbon. I raise quality Paints and Quarter Horses with solid minds, good dispositions, correct conformation, speed, and cow sense. I currently have eight stallions on the farm, four mature Paint stallions, plus three up and coming Paint colts that will be future stallion prospects and one Quarter Horse stallion. These stallions are very intelligent and eager to please. These stallions have been hand picked with all the essential traits above with the color that is the icing on the cake.

My stallions and broodmares carry the excellent bloodlines of such great horses as Q T Poco Streke, Zan Parr Bar, Gallant Ghost, Hank-A-Chief, Sonny Dee Bar, Two Eyed Jack, Bear Cat, Peppy San, Solanos Peppy San by Peppy San Badger, Alydar (TB), Secretariat (TB), Blue Boy Quincy and Dual Pep are just some of the great bloodlines offered in my Paints and Quarter Horses. It has taken me years to find the right mares with the dispositions, conformation and minds that make the best crosses with my stallions for the best all around horse.

When looking for your next prospect come and check out what SLR has to offer!!!

GLORY J RANCH

We are located seven miles west of Stony Plain. Our property is bordered on the North side by C.N.R.L. railway. The passing by of trains is a regular occurrence and we believe adds character to the ranch.

Glory J caters to horse boarding. We generally have anywhere between 15 to 25 boarders that calls Glory J their home. Our boarders enjoy a large outdoor riding arena in the summer and can move inside to our heated indoor arena in the winter. There is also some great trail along the railway track for the trail riders. We have all types of horse activities; English jumpers, western riding, cow-horse and cutting. We have a small herd of cattle for the cow-horse and cutters. One on One is on Monday nights and Thursday night has become a regular event for cattle sorting. Many local horse folks haul their horses in to participate in the cattle events.

Glory J is small enough that the boarders knows each other and if someone is looking for a trail-riding buddy there generally is someone available.

Visitors are always welcome at Glory J Ranch!

Riding lessons are now offered at Glory J Ranch by Tony McKee. You can call Tony @ 780-994-2852 or Glory J email or telephone.
