ShadowBrook Equine was established in 1999 by Nan Harrison. Located in the beautiful Alberta foothills north west of Cochrane, it is a place to relax, rejuvenate and enjoy your horse. Dogpound Creek runs through the property and lends a magical quality to the setting. At ShadowBrook Equine, no goal is too small or too lofty- we are here to help you make your dreams come true. The barn is multi discipline - there are people who ride english, western, competitive trail, dressage - however there is no jumping. You can take lessons on your own horse, or ride a lesson horse.

ShadowBrook Equine caters to the health and well being of both horse and rider. Within our full service training facility, we offer lessons, training for horse and rider, colt breaking, and a limited amount of boarding. We also offer rehab/hospice care for horses in need. With many years of experience and working closely with vets you can ensure your horse will get the ultimate care.

Nan Harrison is an EC/USEF Arabian Horse Association judge and is also carded for Team Sorting. Currently showing Sport Horse/Dressage, Nan has ridden in almost every division from Saddleseat to Reining, Hunter Pleasure, Western Pleasure and Trail. Nan is also involved with Distance Riding and has been licensed on the Thoroughbred Racetrack for 20 years. The surrounding hills and abundant crown land provide fantastic opportunities for conditioning horses for CTR, Endurance and Racing. Nan is happy to suggest training routines for those who are interested.

WHISKEY HILL PERFORMANCE HORSES

Whiskey Hill Performance Horses is managed by Michaela Berlie and based out of her parent’s former Canadian Sport Horse breeding farm, Slipstream Farm.

The facility is located only minutes south of the town of Okotoks, Alberta and offers a bright indoor arena, a 14 stall barn with infloor heating as well as numerous outdoor paddocks. A large outdoor barrel patch offers a stunning 360 view from the southeastern flank of Whiskey Hill.

Western riding lessons will be running September through to December 19th 2014.

Whiskey Hill Performance Horses is able to deal with a wide range of horse training needs. Colt starting, conditioning/fitness, miles on green horses or just a tune-ups. More advanced training in both English and specific Western disciplines is also available. Please contact me to further discuss you and your horse’s training needs.

Delphi Farms is Situated in southern Alberta, Canada on 32 acres of Praire Pasture on the outskirts of Brooks, Alberta. Owned and operated by Elie (Louie) and Eileen Criebardis.

We are dedicated to breeding quality foals and developing young horses for the sport industry.

Our Broodmares are CWHBA inspected Mares. We select top quality Stallions such as Portland L, Landkonig, Ikoon, Fils De Lully.

We currently have several horses for sale for the English discipline.

They are in different stages of training. Good for Pony Club, pleasure, all around disciplines.

EQUITOP FARMS

Equitop Farm is located in the Parkland Region of Central Alberta, Canada, just 50 minutes southeast of the Edmonton International Airport. SMOKEY RIVER SPORTHORSES

Smoky River Sport Horses is a family based business located in Bezanson, approximately 30 minutes east of Grande Prairie, Alberta near the beautiful Smoky River Banks.

Here we have been breeding and raising horses for over 40 years, using our natural location as the perfect place for training and breeding quality horses.

Tradition: For generations our family has used horses under saddle and in harness for work, competition, or pleasure.

We have put extensive time and miles on our horses resulting in well-trained horses that have been exposed to a vast variety of tasks, obstacles and challenging terrain. It become obvious early on, that only the best type of horses (horses with superior endurance, soundness, and stamina, along with willing temperaments and courageous nature) could handle this type of work. This invaluable training and these attributes go a long way toward producing successful competition horses. We have furthered our goal by adding top bred horses with tremendous athletic ability to our breeding program. After a great deal of research, and carefully selected bloodlines we have added the renowned Trakehner breed and other carefully selected bloodlines to our existing warmblood influences.

Another reason we sought out the Warmbloods and Trakehner, is that all breeding stock has to undergo rigorous grading, evaluation, and tests to be approved, for example, only about 4% of all Trakehner colts born ever pass to become an approved stallion. These evaluations are what maintains the Trakehner's high standards. We are now producing purebred Trakehners, Performance Horse, CWHBA, CSHA, ATA, and mixed blood horses.

HILLSIDE FARMS

Hillside Farms is the home of Skeptic, a bay/white tobiano Oldenburg stallion and Timely Roberto, a chestnut sabino/rabicano Thoroughbred stallion. Our goal is to breed quality colored sporthorses for every discipline that will suit a variety of riders.

We have a small but fantastic band of broodmares that offer an excellent variety of bloodlines and types for the sporthorse breeder. All of our mares are proven show horses, have superior conformation and joined our broodband sound. We are please to announce our newly imported sport and breeding stallion Centim. Approved by The Canadian Warmblood Association and The Canadian Sport Horse Association.

Two Willows Equine is a partnership between Willow Butte Cattle Company (Janine Olson) and Willow Grove Stables (Trish Mrakawa).

Willow Butte Cattle Company operates as a 6000 head Custom Cattle Feedlot /Cow-calf operation. Situated on 5000 acres of rolling farm/ grassland Willow Butte provides the breeding portion of the Two Willows Equine Development Centres.

Broodmares have the opportunity to winter on open hayland. Young stock begin their education being exposed to all a working cattle operation has to offer. Exposure to heavy-duty farm equipment, cattle and the general workings of a feedlot, along with the opportunity to be part of a large group of horses lead to sound minds and quiet dispositions.

ASPELUND RIDGE

Quality sporthorse breeding and training.

Aspelund Ridge is a compact breeding and training operation focusing on dressage.  It is situated on ten acres in central Alberta.  The facility consists of turn out paddocks, a four stall summer barn, a new three stall foaling/stallion barn, a solid sided round pen and a 20m x 60m outdoor dressage arena.
 
A small number of select broodmares are crossed with top stallions from across North America.  Check out our mare page to see what crosses we are looking forward to next year.  The breeding operation has recently begun expanding with intentions to soon offer breeding to stallions from top European dressage bloodlines.  Our young stallion, Sovereign Hit is an exciting prospect with the bloodlines that are winning stallion licensing and approvals in Europe.

Aspelund Ridge offers training with F.E.I dressage rider, Sheri Cameron.  All training of the Aspelund Ridge horses is done by Sheri who also takes outside horses in for dressage training.  Sheri has been training dressage horses for ten years and has competed internationally in CDI competitions as well as being ‘B’ listed for the Canadian Equestrian Team.  Sheri has trained regularly with Canadian Olympic Team rider, Leslie Reid.  Sheri has a strong interest in training young dressage prospects for the F.E.I Young Horse dressage tests.  She applied and was accepted to the Young Horse Dressage Trainer’s Symposium in 2006 and will be attending again in 2007.  This is a fantastic opportunity to work with top young horse trainer’s from around the world:  Scott Hassler, Ingo Pape and Michael Klimke to name a few.

Aspelund Ridge has young prospects and going dressage horses offered for sale.  The horses offered on our sales page are all either offspring from our breeding program or are in training with Sheri Cameron.  Our young horses have all had good basic ground handling and regular farrier and health care.  They are raised in a group environment.  The training horses have been working with Sheri Cameron in a dressage training program that is well rounded.  Work includes flat rides, chute jumping, free running and field riding to make sure the horses are the best possible prospects for their new owners.

Sheri also offers dressage lessons to students of all levels.  She has taught from beginner up to the FEI levels.  Students are competitive at schooling shows, National shows and even International shows.  One student recently made the Canadian Team for the North American Junior/Young Rider Championships.

MISSION STATEMENT:

To provide discerning buyers with exemplary specimens of the Akhal Teke breed, based upon the promotion of a belief in, and pursuit of, broad genetic diversity as is best available within that population, while also sometimes augmenting more readily recognized breeds with Akhal Teke finesse.

SHIMMER-E EQUESTRIAN

Shimmer-E Equestrian is located approximately 20 minutes north-west of Edmonton, 20 km north of Spruce Grove (north of Calihoo, west of Riviere Qui Barre).  We have room for two to four horses for winter board in private or semi-private paddocks.

We are an outdoor-only facility (Rome wasn't built in a day either...) with an outdoor arena, outdoor stalls, insulated tack barn, pastures, auto water, PLENTY of quality hay and a very friendly, helpful atmosphere. 

Our specialty is rehabbing rescue horses.  We are not a rescue, but have had much success bringing back living skeletons to life, working with the owners.  At the same time, it is quite nice to have the retirees out too, or your performance partner.  Broodmares in foal also welcome to join with our broodmare herd for an all-inclusive rate (includes special broodmare ration).

Our board fee includes hay and a grain feed program.  $175/month is for our standard maintenance program.  Special circumstances determine special pricing.  We have a fantastic farrier and two vet clinics close by as well as numerous indoor arenas. 

We are proud of our production of quality half-Arabian and wamblood sport horses.
