WILD ROSE ICELANDIC HORSE FARM

Come and try the icelandic horse! They are built with strong bone density so they can carry adults as well as children. They have 5 gaits instead of the usual three in other breeds. Walk, trot, canter, TOLT and PACE.

The tolt is a smooth running walk cherished for long rides in the mountains. The pace is a fun and exciting racing gait similar to what the standardbreds do. The Icelandic horse is a multi talented breed that can do anything. They make excellent jumpers because of their athletisism and snappy knees over jumps, the show horses have big movements for dressage, because of their backround of herding sheep many of them have a herding instinct, the quiet ones are fantastic for children and nervous riders(no typical pony attitude in them. They think more like a golden retriever) the higher energy types do extremely well in CTRs and endurance.

They average at around 13.2+hh but they can be in the 12hh range or up to 15hh range. They have dense winter coats for the cold temps(no need for blankets) and they have light shiney coats in the summer. They are well known for their thick manes and tails and their fantastic temperments.

We offer lessons, horses for sale, and Icelandic horse training. We have an indoor arena for lessons and have lesson horses to be ridden.

Come and try a lesson with an Icelandic Horse! You will love it! Lessons are $30 per lesson.

RINGSTEAD RANCH

Breeders of Peruvian Paso Horses since 1991, Ringstead is one of Canada’s largest breeders where emphasis is on Gait, Strength,Brio & Beauty.  Today our herd includes 50 purebred horses with a select group of breeding mares in Texas.

As one of the biggest and most successful breeders of Peruvian Paso horse in Canada, our focus is and always has been, to breed strong, well rounded and well trained horses.

We have always taken the time to imprint our foals.  We teach them to lead, stand, halter, and to pick up their feet and even to load on the trailer before weaning time  They are worked with extensively to ensure the very best ground manners.  In our experience, this is essential to a horse that is respectful of people, confident and trusting of new situations making then a safer riding companion for our clients.
When selling horses, it is our Number 1 Priority and our promise to you, to always place the right horse into the right home for a truly "Win - Win" situation.

Ringstead also keeps a small, select group of broodmares in Texas, enabling us to breed to some of the breeds most exciting and successful stallions.  Watch for offspring sired by *ERM Espontaneo, *FCY Vandalo and MLM Lengendario to name a few, coming to the Canadian show circuit in the coming years.

Our Team - We strongly believe it is vital to hire good people, people who not only bring with them good knowledge and years of experience in the equine industry, but those who share our passion for the horse.  We are fortunate that we have exceptional employees who take ownership and pride in the ranch and the horses.
