At RKI Horse Training we recognize that all horses are individuals and strive to meet those needs. We work hard to build a foundation of confidence, trust and respect between us ( the rider ) and your horse, while also addressing preventive care ( feed program, shoeing, osteopath ).

Rayanne has worked along side of some of the most recognized and sucessful trainers in Canada and the USA and has incorporated all of her favorite techniques from Cutting, Team Roping, Reining, English ( jumping/dressage ) and Cow Play into her own program. By applying extensive ground work, and following it up with good work ethic we show your horse how to enjoy their JOB - whether that be in the show pen, or just out on the trail !

Eaglesfield is owned by Brian and Colleen Coleman of Didsbury, Alberta, Canada. Brian is a six time World Champion teamster whose background is in farming with horses; Colleen's background is in light horses. They have been training horses together for about 25 years. Their pride is in teaching other people how to safely and effectively drive their horses.

They produce 2-5 Percheron foals per year and foal out mares of all breeds for their clients.

Our interest in this community stems from our desire to share our experiences and our passion for the draft horse.

Prominent in Canada, but well known over most of North America, Canadian Shire breeders Blake and Fran Anderson maintain a breeding program that has produced top quality English Shire horses for the past 30 years.

Gentle Giant Ranch has been a consistent winning presence at the Calgary Stampede, host of the Canadian National Shire Show, as well as the Mountain View County Fair, and the Central Alberta Draft Horse Classic, in Olds, Alberta.

WILD CARD RANCH

Wild card ranch is a family owned and ran business by Jody & Beau Riedel.  For the longest time it has been our dream to own more land.  In early 2011 that dream had come true when we moved from our 6 acre property to 160 acres just minutes west of Didsbury.  All ready set up with pens and an indoor arena there was nothing but some minor cross fencing and pen building to get it set up to how we wanted it.

 It was a few short months after moving in that we got our first herd of cattle and proceeded to host two man ranch sorting practices.  Cow work is what we love to do and strive to learn and get better at it.  Aside from just sorting we do horse boarding and host clinics from working cow  to obstacle courses.

Trainer and clinician Shawn Seabrook has also done and will be doing more work out of Wild Card Ranch.  Our goal here is to provide a fun and relaxed atmosphere where riders of all levels can learn and have a good time.  Please watch our calendar for upcoming events being held at Wild Card Ranch.

We are an Alberta full service horse training, conditioning and rehabilitation facility committed to going above and beyond to insure each individual horse is cared for to the highest standards. With over 80 years of combined equine experience you can be assured that your horse will be cared for in the most professional and dedicated manner.

We operate the only Equine Treadmill Pool of its kind in Canada. With a longer stride and a greater water depth than any other Treadmill Pool available. This allows us to work horses at both the walk and at a full trot in water that is deep enough to not only provide resistance training but also alleviate 40-60% of the weight and strain from the limbs. When your horse is in the treadmill pool he is closely monitored to insure he is working in a straight, round manner and we watch carefully to make sure he is working at a comfortable natural gate.

We will work with your veterinarian and farriers or, if required, we can arrange for this professional care as needed. We tailor our programs to meet the needs of each horse, working with leading veterinarians, farriers, and massage therapists to insure the best results for you and your animal. We offer different conditioning programs from daily work outs for horses preparing to race, to a couple of work outs a week to maintain overall fitness. ROCKSPRING FARM

Kids Horse Riding Camp

December 28-30, 2010
 

Working over the Christmas Holidays? Children home from School?

This is a 3 day kids riding camp, welcome to all ages!!

This fun packed camp goes for 3 days from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. The kids do a variety of activities that help them learn about horses and horsemanship.  The camp is located between Olds, Didsbury, and Sundre just off of Bergen rd. The barn is heated, the arena is indoor, and the instructors are enthusiastic!

Over the course of the camp they will participate in activities that will educate them in: tack cleaning, horsemanship (on and off the horse), safety, and of course lots of fun!

All ability levels are welcome!  Even if you have never ridden before!

If you would like to bring your horse to the camp pens are available. 

Don't have your own horse? We have safe friendly horses’ available to use.

Instructors are 4-H leaders and hold regular camps over the course of the summer.
