LAIT EQUINE SERVICES

Allie is originally from Nanton, Alberta, where she grew up in a ranching and rodeo family. She is still actively involved in rodeo, as she competes in barrel racing, trains young barrel horses, and she is a member of the Canadian Professional Rodeo Association. Further, she is married to professional bareback rider, Matt Lait.

This extensive background with animals is what inspired her career in Equine Dentistry, as she sought to improve the well-being of the animals that shaped her life.

After studying Equine Dentistry at the Texas Institute of Equine Dentistry in Weatherford, Texas, from 2009 to 2010, Allie moved back to Canada where she graduated from the two-year Olds College Animal Health Technology Program in 2012. All the while, Allie has been a valued member of the Equine Energy team as the official equine dentist.

DR. FRANCIS MOBILE EQUINE DENTISTRY

Is your horse ready for winter? And able to fully chew that expensive hay?

Dr Ian Francis is an Alberta registered veterinarian living in the Edmonton area and has been treating horses and ponies and their teeth problems for over twenty years..

Dr. Ian's Dentistry practice is aimed at convenience for horse owners and trainers by visiting your property and your horse does not need to be held during a gentle approach floating procedure. Using motorized and hand floats.

Every horse needs dental maintenance each year because their teeth keep growing causing dental overgrowth and painful mouth ulcers, with younger and older horses often more frequently, so that they can enjoy eating and working without discomfort or pain, and for you, less wasted feed and more fun and SUCCESS!
Dr. Ian has looked after all disciplines of English and Western horses including Olympic Show Jumpers and Eventers, valuable race and rodeo horses and treasured pets. And as a rider himself, he understands the needs of owners.

STONE WILLOW VETERINARY SERVICE

Stone Willow Veterinary Service is large animal ambulatory veterinary practice that is owned and operated by Ken and Marlene Vanderwekken.

Established in the fall of 2007 it is establishing a reputation on providing reliable personal service. The focus of our practice is large animal only with a special interest in equine health. We provide general health care for horses centering on preventative care. We also provide veterinary care for your horse when something unforeseen happens.  General medicine and surgery are areas very familiar to us.

Of particular interest are areas where we take extra consideration. We take great pride in providing a combination of special modalities to give your horse the best care we know how to give. Animal chiropractic and veterinary acupuncture can provide your horse with relief from many problems including back and limb pain. Equine dentistry is a well established part of our practice. Dentistry is so much more than just floating teeth.  An equine athlete that has a sound body and a healthy mouth is able to perform to its full potential.

Ken and Marlene take great pride in getting to know our clients and enjoy our business with them. Our intention is to keep our business small enough to provide personal service to all who contact us.Our focus is on giving personal service to people as we care for their animals.

MARGARET E ROUGEAU

Equine Dentist will travel anywhere in Alberta to serve the dental needs of your horses. Spring is a good time to get an UTD full equilibration with new bitseats. Horses perform better with 60% more airflow for the disciplines he is trained to do.

Horses under five years should see an Equine Dentist every 6 months to have deciduous teeth extracted so the new permanent tooth bud has that space to erupt into. Wolf teeth extractions should be done as well.

Horses five years and older need dental work every twelve months to smooth off razor sharp buccal and lingual edges on their molar tables. Maintaining the incisors assures a three point balance between the temporomandibular joints and molar tables.

I love horses and dentistry. I know I can leave them more comfortable than I found them. It makes them more agreeable and safer for the owner to handle.

Book Early to assure your appointment.

JEFFREY R KELLY

Services include: horse dentistry, sheath cleaning, horse training, equine dentistry, and horse training. We sell horse videos on trailer loading, sheath cleaning, non-sedation horse tooth floating, and horse dentistry.

I use hand floats and motorized to do horses teeth.

Why Equine Dentistry Maintenance Is Important To Your Horse
  • We are trying to maintain the horse’s overall health and weight so the horse can perform to full ability and potential
  • We are trying to reduce the risk of stress which can result in stomach ulcers and other stress-related problems
  • The sharp points and ridges on the edges of the molars can, and will cut the horse’s cheeks and tongue – stopping forward movement, side passing, etc.
