RUNNING H RIDING

Horse Training and Riding Lessons

My name is Pam Hebner (Veer). After years of barrel racing accomplishments, I am now training barrel horse’s full time. I have had the pleasure of riding and working with Judy Myllymaki. I follow Judy’s program of training barrel horses, utilizing a variety of exercises and drills that will assist in preparing a horse for the barrel pattern. I focus on keeping a horse light and responsive in their mind and body, and believe in putting a few miles on them outside the arena as well. My goal is to develop horses that are easy for others to ride and win on. I also work with riders, helping them achieve their goals, whether it is in barrel racing or just general horsemanship. I am interested in developing horses 3 years old and up to compete in futurities, derbies or as open jackpot or rodeo horses.

I will also provide riding lessons to all levels of riders. I can provide a lesson horse or use your own horse. Check out my Facebook page Running H Riding.

I have had the pleasure and training some great horses, here are some of my accomplishments: ABRA Finals 1D Open Champion, numerous FCA, WRA and LRA successes, Futurity Short go Qualifier, and Alberta High School Rodeo Pole Bending Champion.

("Pam is a great cowgirl, with a whole lot of try that will get the job done”, statement from Judy Myllymaki, NFR Qualifier, Trainer and Renowned Clinician) Judy is also available to speak with as a reference if you wish to inquire with her about myself and what I have to offer.

LESLEY POHL HORSE TRAINING

Lesley is a cowgirl’s “cowgirl” and grew up on a cattle operation North of Ponoka; she has been working with livestock since she can remember; it is a common saying in her family that she was “born on a horse chasing a cow”. She was actively involved in little britches, local equestrian groups, Battle River High School Rodeo and College rodeo to name a few.

She has participated in gymkhana, rodeo, cattle sorting, cattle pennings, pole bending and of course barrel racing, enjoying the teachings of Dena Kirkpatrick, Judy Myllmaki, Ed Wright, Pat Parelli, Buck Brannaman.

Lesley’s life-long focus has been working with horses & people; she first started doing clinics and giving riding lessons to kids in the late 90′s; the first clinic she ever instructed was a goat tying and pole bending clinic; she started her first horse at the age of 16; He was a 16 hh standard bred & quarter horse cross that she had raised at the feedlot & she fondly called him ‘Hollywood’; this experience secured Lesley’s passion for working with race horses and now her greatest passion is working with “problem horses & their owners using a vast array of natural horsemanship techniques to bring them to a more balanced existence;

Lesley uses a blend of cowgirl smarts, common sense, intuition and natural horsemanship methods to work the horses through obstacle type courses & activities; these courses challenge the horse in many different ways. Using horsemanship, equine yoga and obstacles such as teeter totters, water obstacles, bridges, cavalettis, milk jug drags, flags, curtains etc. it is inspiring for her to watch the horse grow mentally daily and note how both horse & rider begin to consider the possibilities of doing things a different more balanced way. When it comes to problem solving with horses clients fondly call her a “Jill of all trades & master of some”.

Personal Horse Training Sessions
Monthly fee: $800 per month plus arena/competition expenses
Monthly fee with cattle: $1000 plus competition expenses
Tune ups: $650 per month plus arena/competition expenses

BUTTERFIELD PERFORMANCE HORSES

Dee and Craig Butterfield of Butterfield Performance Horses draw on years of experience as competitors, trainers and clinicians when it comes to their quarter horse breeding program. (Dee has worked as a barrel racing clinician for more than 40 years.) That experience combined with carefully selected quarter horse bloodlines creates winners.

Pedigrees are the strength behind the speed, athleticism, heart and strong desire to rate and turn, qualities that are needed in the present day barrel horse. Also what is becoming so evident is the versatility of these horses, and, in turn, their appeal to a larger market.

Presently at stud are Raisin The Moon and Perfect Possibility, stallions carrying world class barrel racing bloodlines. Perfect Possibility was named the Leading CBHI Stallion for 2012. As well, Perfect Possibility sired the 2012 CBHI Open Hi Point Horse, Top Possibility. Raisin The Moon sired the High Selling 2012 CBHI sale horse - Perfect Lady Bugs.
