BECOME A COACH - EQUINE ASSISTED LEARNING

Equine Assisted Learning is a growing industry. Horses have an amazing capacity to bring about change in the people they encounter. Recent federal funding for Equine Therapy for PTSD shows the ever growing recognition of horses in the healing process. People with autism, cancer survivors, at-risk youth, and Aboriginal groups have all seen changes when interacting with horses.

NOW is your opportunity to become part of this growing field.

HIGHER TRAILS EQUINE Ltd. is offering their EQUINE ASSISTED PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT (EAPD) COACH Course September 16, 17, 18, 19, 2015 at their home ranch near Black Diamond, AB.

This four day course teaches how to Coach others to overcome obstacles and move forward in life. With the horse as a partner, you help clients discover what is holding them back and develop strategies and plans to bring about change. Facilitators are Ross and Dee MacInnes who have worked with horses in an EAL capacity since 2002. With over 100 EAPD Coaches across Canada, they continue to share their knowledge with those who have a passion for horses and people.

To learn more, check out the website www.highertrails.ca or call 403-874-6284.

Class sizes are limited to allow maximum interaction with the horses.

Exercises are both on the ground and mounted.

Must be over 18 to participate.

HORIZON EQUESTRIAN

After 19 years in business, the Horizon philosophy has not changed. Offer quality care, individual attention and topnotch, qualified instruction to produce the best horses and riders possible.

I have always believed in a community environment, with a fun, enlightening, social element to truly make this a happy place for my clients. Whether competition is the objective or not, the goal is continued learning, with the horses progressing in a correct, safe and timely manner.

I believe in correct basics, started from the beginning with the young horses and in correct equitation for the riders. There are no short cuts. It is a sport of detail and accuracy and the basics are what takes the rider and horses successfully up the levels. The joy of dressage is not only reaching the goals but the journey along the way. Horizon is filled with riders on that journey

We offer clinics with Canadian Olympic and PanAm team member, Tom Dvorak 4-5 times a year. Tom has been my trainer and mentor for over 15 years and exemplifies the best qualities that a dressage rider could have. Flawless equitation, a true understanding of the training scale and tools needed to produce high level dressage horses and an unwaivering belief in correct basics. His horses are text book and his results speak volumes. Spectators are always welcome and rider participation is encouraged.

Both myself and a staff member live on site to provide security. I have purchased my hay from the same supplier for the past 19 years who provides me with top quality product. I have used the same farrier for 19 years, Ron Tucker who is regarded in the industry as one of the best performance farriers in Alberta.

I have matched many horse and rider combinations successfully over the years, bred many successful sport horses and trained consistent winners in the show ring. My ongoing goal to create the best care and learning environment continues on today, with the addition now of Centerline success. As a certified performance-life coach, this new element to my business continues to bring growth and personal development to my clients.

GARY HUNT'S COLT BREAKING CLINIC

October 3-5, 2014
KS Riding Arena, Kehewin AB

Starting Colts properly is one of the best gifts you can give you and your horse. It will strengthen your relationship and help build a bond that will allow you to work side by side in confidence.
That's why I've (Gary) developed the 5 step method. The key to solving any problems a horse or colt has is by developing his trust in you. I will teach you how you can develop trust and Ground Manners in your horses and colts with simple 1 hour sessions over 3 days. At the end of the 5 sessions you will be able to get on your horse for the first time and ride out of the pen, confident that you are in control of your horse.
If you’ve ever tried to start a colt yourself, you’ll know that without some experience behind you it’s not an easy task. What you think would work often doesn’t and the solution is usually the opposite of what you would expect. In my course you will learn how to start any colt, with any temperament and be riding in 5 days

Train Any Horse Young or Old
Through 5 short 1 hour classes over 3 days you will be able to take your colt that has never been ridden, saddled, or bridled, and confidently ride out of the pen on him. My method has been developed over 30 years of working directly with horses. This can be used on any horse young or old and with any temperament. And it will work.
Session One: We cover Sacking out and Saddling
Session Two: Sacking, Saddling & Head-to-Tail
Session Three: Driving Your Colt with the Halter
Session Four: Driving Your Colt with the Big Ring Snaffle Bit
Session Five: Riding Your Colt
That’s it! In 5 short sessions, you’ll build your colt into a horse you can confidently ride and control

Clinic: October 3- 5 2014
Location: KS Riding Arena, Kehewin Alberta
Contact Shelley 780-573-3499 texts also allowed
Space is limited, deposits required before September 15, 2014
