CANABAR FARMS

Canabar Farm located just north-east of Lacombe, Alberta. The 60 acres of rolling farmland are owned by Ann de St Remy and Vern Baron.

We began raising Morgan horses in 1989 when we purchased our first broodmare, Drumlin Irish Miss. Our goal is to breed quality western pleasure horses that are suited to amateur riders.

We have a small band of broodmares descended from some of the best and most beautiful lines in the Morgan breed. We do not own or stand a stallion which allows us to choose our sires that complement our broodmares. We usually have one or two foals a year so we have the time to work with each from birth.

The success of Canabar-bred horses that we have shown comes from working with our trainers at Brouwer Performance Horses. Ron and Darlene have trained our horses since 1992. We cherish memories of many trips to Oklahoma City with them.

COUNTRYSIDE FARMS

Quarter Horse breeding operation - primarily raising reining horses. Some of the broodmares are cutting breed - making them good crosses to "Hes A Bueno Jac" (son of Hollywood Jac 86) our primary stallion.

We do breed our mares to outside stallions as we feel that we have great mares that cross on other great stallions also.

Our facility is located just east of the town of Lacombe about 5 miles. We have 80 acres with a 84'x 200' indoor arena and a 110' x 200' outdoor arena. We have a 14 stall heated barn. We have had trainers working out of our facility in the past but are in the process of downsizing our horse business and eventually dispersing all of our breeding stock and making preparation to sell the property this spring.

MEADOWLARK ARABIANS

Meadowlark Arabians is located in the Parkland region of Alberta (Central Alberta) and is home to two time National Champion, JM MYSTAIRS FIRE+// and Reserve National Champion OFW Marcus. Meadowlark offers fine Arabian horses and offers a exceptional selection of Stallions at stud.

Meadowlark Arabians has always been my dream but it became a reality because of the support and help of my family. This is in memory with love and thanks to Peggy Henry (my sister and best friend) Jim Henry (my father who always supported me) and Marilen Henry (my mother who introduced me to the world of horses). Many people have asked me where the prefix of JM for my horses came. It came from the first initial of my parents names Jim and Marilen as without their support the horses would never have become a reality for me.

DUE TO HEALTH PROBLEMS I AM DISPERSING ALL THE YOUNG HORSES AND BROODMARES.

NOISY HOLLOW ACRES

Information Updated March  2, 2015

Located thirty minutes from beautiful Red Deer, Alberta, Canada, on sixty plus acres of prime horse land, we are committed to raising the most naturally gaited horses you will find anywhere.

We specialize in the Tennessee Walking Horse and feel they are versatile enough to be competitive in most equine events, although their true strength is how exceptional they are as trail riding mounts. Their calm and willing nature makes them the world’s greatest trail pleasure horse. To try to explain what riding one of these magnificent animals feels like would be like trying to describe what a banana tastes like. Pretty much impossible... Like the saying goes, "To ride one is to own one". You just have to try one for yourself to gain the true appreciation that the rest of us gaited horse folk experience every time we go for a ride.

Are you unsure of what your gaited horse is supposed to be doing? Were you told that they should be smooth, yet you find you are bouncing around in the saddle much like riding a trotting horse? Did you know that the pace is one of the gaits a gaited horse will tend to do and that this gait is VERY hard on their body creating many physical problems and pain for your horse down the road? I specialize in gaited horse training having worked with TWH's, Rocky Mountains, Single Footers, Peruvians, Icelandics and Missouri Fox Trotters. Many references available!
