M SHWANKE HORSEMANSHIP

I believe in a solid, thoroughly-built groundwork foundation, establishing a horse that is accustomed to an active environment while maintaining a light sensitivity where it's important. Soft, flexible head, neck, and body with strong hind end impulsion is encouraged and enforced throughout groundwork. I do not "cowboy break" or quick fix, so there is never any "bucking it out" or driving a horse to exhaustion. I teach very low contact on the hands for English, and no contact at all for Western. Body language is a huge part of my training. While firm and focusing on respect, I am not aggressive and have a lot of patience. I encourage owners to visit or sit in on sessions and even take on some hands-on learning experience so that when the horse goes home, the owner is able to continue progressing with their horse.

GEMINI EQUESTRIAN

I am taking on 2 more clients for the November/ December months for colt starting, problem solving, trailering assitance, or for your older horse that needs a refresher with some groundwork basics and miles. Because I don't have yet have my facility estabilished, I am travelling to you and your horse and I can provide all tack and equipment if need be, English or Western. I highly suggest that owner or rider spend a couple sessions with myself and the horse so I am able to fully explain aids I have used, and give a couple lessons. If you have access to an indoor arena/ round pen, thats always helpful! If not, we can always make arrangements to travel locally.

I offer a $30 flat fee ( inlcuding mileage within reason ) to come to your place to meet your horse/horses and do an assessment.

Rates are as follows:
- Colt Starting ( Horses with 0 to Under 30 days ) : $700 a month for a minimum of two months.
* This includes working with the horse 4-5 days a week*

- Groundwork Refreshers and miles : $400-500 per month
* Includes working with the horse for 2-3 days per week *

- Problem Solving : $30 per session (up to 1.5 hours), per horse, plus mileage @ .50 Cents per Kilometre traveled.

I follow natural horsemanship techniques from the horseman that started it all; Tom Dorrance and Ray Hunt. I always put the horse first and I don't believe in using tools to force horses to do anything. With the proper foundation on the ground, and a kind heart with understanding to how the horse thinks, anything can be accomplished. Feel free to check out my website, and facebook page. Tons of pictures and referances avalible upon request.

Spots are filling up quickly! I look forward to meeting you all and helping you with your 4-legged friends :)

BRENT TROUT NATURAL HORSEMANSHIP

I have been training horses for 19 years and have lived throughout Alberta. But now call the rolling hills of the family farm north of Delia home to my training operation. The Trout family farm is located across the road from the main entrance of the old "Imperial Ranch."

My wife Carrie and I have two great kids, Thomas and Autumn. Our family enjoys the lifestyle that horsetraining provides and the invaluable friendships that we have made along the way.

I use Natural Horsemanship techniques in the roundpen, as well as miles of outside riding and ranch work to develop the horses placed in my program.

The core principles of my program have remained the same but my method of instruction continues to evolve.

HORSEMANSHIP BY TIM JOHNSTON

Tim Johnston is an horse trainer and equine behavior modification professional for all breeds and disciplines. Tim accomplishes his horse training goals through the use of Natural Horsemanship. All horses are worked at liberty in the round pen to increase their level of trust, confidence and self-control. Because they are free to leave when they are overwhelmed, the horses soon learn to control their flight impulses and look to the handler for direction, thereby becoming mentally prepared to handle "scary" situations by remaining calm and focused on their handler. Tim believes in establishing clear communication so that the horse respects and trusts his rider, thereby increasing safety for both.

Training Facility and Boarding is supplied by Alhambra Stables
