Horse Boarding and Trail Riding

We are offering pasture, paddock, and barn stall rental in the Alsike, Breton, Warburg area. 

- Pasture is $150 per month $200 for paddock board and $350 for barn stall board per month. 
- Cabin rental $75 per night sleeps six with camping area $20 per night for trailers and $15 for tents

We are planning to have weekly trail rides as well as poker rally's and clinics.
 
Our ranch offers nine miles of scenic groomed trails on 80 acres of fenced land a sixty foot round pen and future outdoor riding arena.
 
Can trailer your horse for boarding if needed.
 
All horses will be given top quality hay and salt blocks plus fresh water year round.
 
Tack lockers available for a small fee.
 
Storage for your horse trailer if needed on site.
 
Training available for weekly rides along with a on call vet and farrier for booking.
 
Open seven days a week year round.

CREEKLAND RANCH

Creekland Ranch is a second generation established cattle/ grain farm that has added new life as a horse boarding/breeding facility.  The home quarter is situated on 160 acres of rolling Alberta land near the North Saskatchewan River.  The creek running through the property provides intriguing trails to ride.

We are committed to providing professional and quality care for all animals.

We have an indoor heated arena.

We offer weekly cattle Sorting / working practices. We also have a flag for private or group use.

Cattle are also available for private bookings.

Outdoor private board $150/mon

Outdoor group board $200/mon 

Indoor stall (injured or foaling only) $300/mon 

We also accept haul-ins for $75/Mon for 7 days a week access per horse.

RED IRON RANCH

Horse Boarding Available near Thorsby Haymaker Center

Red Iron Ranch is now open for boarders. Located 15 minutes North West of Thorsby, half hour South of Stoney Plain, and half hour West of Leduc. 80 acres located on a quiet dead end road, ½ mile South of the North Saskatchewan River.

Boarding options available include and are not limited to:*Basic Pasture Board –includes pasture or pen with shelter, clean water troughs or waterers, grass or hand fed hay 2-3 times daily, (hard keepers can go on a round bale feeder), salt & mineral blocks,straw provided in the winter, and access to indoor storage for tack, round pen, outdoor riding pen, hayfield, and quiet roads to ride on. Trailer storage available. Horses are checked at least 3 times daily. $150/month

*Added Pasture Board – includes same as basic plus blanketing and grain/supplements twice a day, (will supply a certain amount of our grain, or you supply yours at your cost). $200/month

*Senior Board – includes same as basic plus grain/supplements, beet pulp, and blanketing. Option for senior horses to go in smaller groups. $200/month

*Medical Board- includes a private pen and whatever care the horse needs. Blanketing and grain/supplements available at extra cost if needed. $200-$300/month

Western horse trainer on site 80% of the time with over 20 years of experience in the industry and close to 10 years of experience in the field of vet medicine. Owner rides full time so many opportunities to have someone to ride with. Rehab horses and seniors welcome. 

BROKEN SPUR EQUINE THERAPY

Horsewoman, trainer and certified Equine Therapist, Jody Schulze spends everyday with horses - her own and those of her clients. Her background, which includes formal training in horsemanship, colt starting and most recently, Equine Therapy, serve her well in her Broken Spur Equine Therapy business.

Anyone who is involved with horses regularly will have seen or ridden a horse that has a movement issue - that might feel a little off. Many of us have also worked with a horse that refuses to complete a particular maneuver or always has difficulty doing it; often this gets written off as a behavioral issue. Equine Therapy, which includes both chiropractic and massage as part of the treatment, can have significant benefits for all horses, from the weekend trail horse to the most primed athlete at the top of his game.

People often ask why a horse would need body work. There are many answers to that question. First of all, horses work hard! We ask them to perform highly athletic maneuvers carrying our weight. Secondly, there are many aspects of a horse's life that are not necessarily natural for them...stall life, the tack we use, carrying our weight, wearing shoes and so on. We do all of these things with our horses' best intentions in mind, however there can be undesirable consequences to them in addition to the benefits. Thirdly, injuries will result in secondary body imbalances. Everyone has been injured and knows that the area you use to compensate for the injury can wind up being just as painful as the injury itself. So considering these things and adding in poorly fitting tack, unbalanced riders, improper shoeing or trimming and the fact that horses just seem to be accident prone and equine body work starts to make sense!
