SPRUCE VIEW HANOVERIANS

We are a semi- private breeding and training facility near Beaumont, Alberta that specializes in the breeding and development of Hanoverian horses for the highest levels of dressage sport. We also offer training, lessons, inspection/sales prep and always have a good selection of dressage horses and prospects for sale for both the amateur and professional rider.

Stephen Forbes is the resident trainer at SpruceView Hanoverians and very fittingly has a special
interest in the development of young dressage horses. Like many horse crazy kids, Stephen began his
riding career in eventing and after attending Olds College he began to specialize in the starting of
young horses and in dressage as well.

JES BREEDING FARM

Performance is the mantra of our breeding program.

Our focus has been on producing jumpers based on Holsteiner Performance Bloodlines – placing high priority on the quality of the mares.

Our first foals were born 1989, imported in utero, out of two Holsteiner mares.

Willingness to work and rideability are essential qualities in our breeding program.

These traits produce not only jumpers, but also talented dressage horses.

EQUITOP FARMS

Equitop Farm is located in the Parkland Region of Central Alberta, Canada, just 50 minutes southeast of the Edmonton International Airport. Owned and operated by Gerrit and Ute Brinkmann, the farm has become well known as a breeder and importer of quality sport horses. Along with a small herd of well-selected broodmares comes an array of promising as well as proven young performance horses.

Their facilities and highly qualified staff enable the farm to bring homebred horses from foal to a successful show-ring career. With an indoor and outdoor arena as well as safe stalls and paddocks, professional care and year round training services are provided. With respect to the breeding season, this family-run farm offers seven-day-a-week availability - delivered with quality service!

Equitop Farm not only provides top quality sires for its own breeding program, but also provides the opportunity for the dedicated North American breeder to access top performance bloodlines through transported semen.

Our farm is a full service facility offering breeding and training.

Bri-Mel’s goals are;

VON PLATEN FARMS

Exceptional Hanoverians

In April 2012, George and Glenys purchased an Equestrian Facility located just west of the city of Camrose with a heated indoor arena and barn, outside sand ring and grass rings. They continue the family tradition of breeding and training of exceptional Hanoverians at this new facility.

George’s family raised Hanoverians in Germany for many decades and is the first of his family to raise them here in Canada. With the help of his wife, Glenys, and sons, Matthew and Christian he strives to raise rideable, competitive horses from top bloodlines like Satisfaction, Fabriano, Rascalino, Likoto and Graf Top, to name a few. 

In an effort to ensure exceptional brood stock, we start all the mares under saddle to evaluate their temperament, correctness and abilities so we are only breeding the best mares. With a strict health program which includes vaccinations, deworming and farrier work we also want a horse that is healthy in mind and body.

In September 2012 Matthew von Platen completed his Competitive Trainer C in Münster, Germany.
Now back in Canada, Matthew will be providing lessons and training for all levels of riders and horses.

Lessons
Semi-Private/Group: $35.00 per hour
Private: $45.00 per hour

Training
Training packages will be customized to the needs of the horse and rider. Training packages will include:
- Training five days per week
- Individual feeding program
- Individual turnout program
- Indoor or Outdoor boarding options
