Awful AWFUL place! The trainer and owners are both complete bitches and all they care about is money! Trainer has a bad reputation in the horse community and is only making it worse with her snotty attitude. Don't waste your time- run FAR away from these people!
ReplyDeleteOwners were nice. Staff sucks!

DeleteAll barns and Buisnesses have to endure the disgruntled boarder/ client. There comes a time especially after managing Tristar for over 20 years that I do not tolerate bad behaviour, unruly and arrogant boarders. It just isn’t worth the effort or time nor does it make the atmosphere tolerable. All barns have rules. All rules are set out before you board. When clients don’t follow the rules everyone has to endear the repercussions. As manager it’s up to me to implement the rules. The above “anonymous” boarders did not comply with these rules and took it upon themselves to do as they wish, which was unsafe and detrimental to others around them. When spoken to about theses issues they did not want to complie and was either asked to leave or took upon themselves to leave.
I have some very loyal Boarders that have been here for over 10 years if not more. They have treated us with respect and appreciation and in turn we have worked hard to return the gratitude.
I hope you will contact me directly for more information and any questions you may have, or please come by at anytime and watch our lessons or visit the horses. We would love to meet you and show you our facility.
Thank you,
Simone

I'm not sure what your experience was blackbird but thats unfortunate, I've been with Simone for 10 years now and she is by far the best trainer in Calgary area hands down. You will never get the partnership between rider and coach that we have at this barn!

ReplyDeleteWorst place ever. Got my horses out if there quick. Bunch of little girls snitching on each other. There is a girl there named Jackie with mental issues, stay away from her. Mel will be nice to your face and talk crap about you behind your back. She's a loser.
ReplyDeleteYou nailed it
DeleteTotally agree with your comments. The facility is very nice but the people are a bunch of whinny petty losers. Need new management.
DeleteWhinny? Who are the people sitting around complaining here?!... Great barn, great people. ZERO complaints. There is very little turn over at this barn for very good reason. That waitlist exists for a reason. Hypocritical commentary isn't making any points. Pretty obvious who's made these comments.
Delete there is no waiting list, idiot. Simone and sideshow Mel scare all the good people away with their lousy attitude. Previous person was correct, other horse trainers hear Simone's name and associate it with idiots.
DeleteLiar! There is no waiting list. Keep your mouth shut around sideshow Mel. She will rat you out to Simone
DeleteI like that the same person or two people keep being so negative. But are too afraid to own up to who they are.
DeleteKeep up the good work Tristar. Simone you rock, don't change a thing. Pay no mind to these immature comments.
A backbone is much more important than the wishbone.
Its a nice barn, nice people, you can always find something wrong with every barn.
ReplyDeleteUsually it's someone with a chip on their shoulder doing the complaining.
They aren't about the money, have you looked at prices at other barns. They are nice people trying to be fair to the riders that are there. You can absolutely find cheaper board... in a field in northern alberta.... where you have to feed straw through the winter... and no indoor facilities... absolutely.
Simone has an amazing attitude, and that's why very few riders leave her. She is very amicable, level headed and highly appreciated by her group. She puts in long hours and patience most people lack. She deserves better than to be slandered by one disgruntled boarder.
Regardless, the above negative comments have zero merit and no clear example.
When you have an above average number of content riders and owners, myself included, sorry. No pleasing everyone. It's easy to spot the grudge someone harbours.
Sad really.
Yes it's true. Simones husband had his ass kicked for being a mouthy know it all. Just like simmone.
ReplyDeleteget you facts right before you become a internet troll
DeleteThe facility is well maintained and nice. However the place needs new management. You and your horse will receive the level of care that you contribute to lessons. If you are a recreational rider who doesn't care to do lessons with Simone, forget about boarding your horse here. Simone is a rude, degrading know-it-all if your not one of her "girls" who spends most of your pay-cheque on your horse and lessons. Chatting with the owner about this issue falls on deaf ears. After many years of putting up with it I left.
ReplyDeleteComing from someone who killed 2 of her horses in one year for negligence and abuse.
DeleteYou asked to go back to Tristar after you left but they didn't take you, so now your complaining?
Who's making these accusations anonymously? If there was neglect or abuse going on where was the barn manager? Owner? Sounds like drama to me, confirms other comments about drama at this place.

Nice damage control. Simone only likes you if you spend money on useless lessons. Every horse trainer knows she is a joke.
ReplyDeleteNice facility, well maintained. Owners are cattle folks and have no idea about horse keeping or how to run a business. Unfortunately, the barn manager has way too much authority and the drama and gossip is rampant--not only from the young boarding clientele but also goes all the way up to the top. Owners fail to do anything about situation. If you like this environment, board there, if not look for another place. As per above, Simone will say there's rules for folks and folks can't follow them and asked to leave which is not true. Having boarded there for close to 10 years; enough is enough. She doesn't even follow her own rules (e.g. no lunging in large arena, don't walk 2 horses on lead at once) It's all about how much money you want to spend on lessons with her. That is the treatment and rules you are given. Also, her favorite, "pets" that spend the majority of their paycheques on lessons, can absolutely do no wrong, even if it means threatening to run old ladies over with their horse or beating up another boarder! She would rather turn a blind eye (until the police show up).
