Active Prohibition Orders in Alberta

Wherever possible and appropriate, the Alberta SPCA seeks to have prohibition orders included in sentencing for convictions under the Animal Protection Act.

The following prohibition orders, relating to convictions arising from cases investigated by the Alberta SPCA, are still in effect.

As related to horses, the offenders are as follows;

Gary Sparshu - June 25, 2014 till 2019
Sparshu is prohibited for five years from owning or having more than 60 horses in his control.

Patricia Strong -  June 25, 2014 till 2018
Strong is prohibited for four years from owning, possessing or caring for horses.

Sheena-Rae Bull-Misner - June 19, 2014 till 2024
Bull-Misner is prohibited for 10 years from owning or possessing any horses.

Lynda Keating - April 22, 2014 till 2019
Keating is prohibited for five years from owning, possessing, caring for, having under her control or having on any property controlled by her, more than two horses.

John Schweer - April 22, 2014 till 2024
Schweer is prohibited for 10 years from owning or having possession of more than two horses.
