TRAIL RIDING ALBERTA CONFERENCE

TRAC’s 2013 Competitive Trail Ride (CTR) Dates:
·         Hills of Home (Milk River) - July 19th – 21st
·         Brule Lake Combined Ride (Brule) – August 30th – Sept 2nd
·         Rattlesnake Roundup (Milk River) – September 20th – 22nd
Whether you are looking for a new challenge for you and your horse, an opportunity to meet like-minded horse people or even a equestrian sport that you can share with your whole family, Competitive Trail Riding (CTR) has something for everyone.

Any horse, any rider, any tack. While the saying might not be strictly true, competitive trail riding (CTR) is a sport that riders from any discipline, and horses of any breed, can enjoy. The rules of Competitive Trail Riding resemble the conditions faced by early pioneers, whose horses travelled vast distances at the quickest pace possible and required enough stamina for the same effort tomorrow.

Rides are held in scenic areas that will provide the greatest challenge and enjoyment for horse and rider. The objective is not to be the first across the finish line, but to finish with your horse in as close to the condition as when starting the ride within a specified time period.

Whether you prefer to spend your time taking in the scenery of the trail or are partial to the competitive spirit of the sport, consider participating in Competitive Trail Riding. What a great opportunity to meet new friends that have a passion in which we all share – our horses!

Kids and Teens are welcome! All three divisions (Novice, Intermediate and Open) have a Junior division within them for competitors 16 years of age and under. TRAC is a family oriented club, with many parent-child riding partners. Note: Juniors must have a “Sponsor” riding with them for insurance reasons – if there is anyone 16 years old or under who does not have an adult to ride with at a CTR, let the ride manager or a board member know ahead of time and we will find someone for the Junior to ride with.
