NORTHERN OAKS FARM & JIM MERRILL QUARTER HORSES

Northern Oaks Farm and Jim Merrill Quarter Horses is located a short 45 minute drive West of Edmonton, Alberta in the rolling hills of horse country.

Situated on 160 acres of pastures, hayfields and training facilities that are second to none. They are a family owned and operated training facility new to the area of Duffield, but not new to the equine training and showing industry.

Jim and Anita are proud parents of four children, two of which are heavily involved in training, managing and showing out of the two family owned facilities, one in Duffield and a second in Camden, South Carolina.
Both Cherrie ( in Duffield, Alberta) and Kory ( in Camden, South Carolina) train youth and amateur riders along with their horses and compete at a local, national and international level.

Cherrie is also actively showing on the APHA circuit with both youth and open horses.

Our philosophy is simple...every horse is individual...thus each training appraoch is individual and unique to each client and their horse. We set attainable goals and do not encourage a fast or quick trick training program. Our horses are guided toward their natural abilities, and our clients appreciate the sincerity and honesty they receive from our training team.
