BAR 22 FARM

Rob Kershaw’s life long love for horses began in his youth and was greatly influenced in those early days by his Grandfather Robert (Bob) Kershaw. It was the elder Kershaw who gave him his first cutting horse to ride, Kims Barbie Cat.

Over the years Rob has garnered ample experience judging open reining as well as cutting & working cowhorse events throughout north central BC. This experience has not only given Rob a keen perspective of what a judge looks for in a successful run, but also the importance of riders having a strong understanding of the rules and how that understanding can make you a better competitor in the arena. Rob has also competed successfully as both an Open and Non Pro rider in reining, cutting and cow horse.

Rob’s philosophy of training both horses and riders is quite simple. The basis of that being, like a well built home, it all starts with a good, strong foundation. It is only when the horse has a good foundation that the horse and rider can progress to the next level.

Whether your interests are in barrels, reining, cutting, penning, cowhorse or you simply want to get started enjoying horses, Rob will, in a positive, encouraging & most importantly, honest manner, help you to build the knowledge and confidence to move forward and achieve your goals. From the raw beginner to experienced riders instruction is catered to your needs to ensure that everyone benefits from the lesson or clinic.

Rob currently lives in Prince George with wife Linda and daughters Tory (the reiner) and Robby Ann (the barrel racer). Rob is very active in the local equestrian community.
