This is the philosophy of our growing company, 'Horses That Work' and is put forth into everyday motion with every horse worked with, whether we are training, out riding range or in the arena. This company has trained horses from across Western Canada, and the U.S. We have an approach to training methods that have proven themselves time and time again. Our forte is in starting horses under saddle and creating a calm mindset about them, that ensures a lighter, more responsive horse that you can trust.

Trevor Mertes of Horses That Work, an experienced rider/trainer, has worked as a cowboy throughout Western Canada and the States. With several years of professional training under his belt, Trevor brings a down to earth, wholesome approach to working with any horse. In this clinic you will learn how to "make the connection" as well as learn how to "ride with feel". Trevor's calm demeanor automatically will bring you and your horse to a place in which you will achieve your personal goals as a rider, as well as take your horse there with you.Using a different method than the "standard" Natural Horsemanship, Horses That Work provides a new but old outlook on the Natural Horsemanship that has been around for hundreds of years. With simple and clear instructions, Trevor has the ability to help you gain understanding of how the mind of a horse/mule thinks, and understanding this fundamental truth about horses will enable you to reach those goals you seek. This will be a clinic you don't want to miss before you think about not riding this winter.
