Offering Equine First Aid Course - Be Prepared!

JOIN US JANUARY 11, 2014 for a one-day intensive equine emergency first aid course - YOUR HORSE IS WORTH IT!

If you have a horse it's not IF, it's WHEN an emergency happens - lacerations, puncture wounds, colic, choke...... could you do what your horse needs to stay alive while waiting for the vet?

You will work hands-on with horses and learn:

Prevention:

80% or more of all horses have back pain. You will learn hands on how to quickly detect pain in your horse, and how a simple Sulis routine can not only relieve pain, but improve his flexibility and circulation. This will include massaging and stretching your horse before riding to ease pain in your horse, prevent tendon injury and help eliminate "cold back"

Lacerations - from the 'innocent' to the bone deep
How to flush foreign bodies from eyes and surprising things from your kitchen to help 
How to get your horse out of sink holes and deep mud

Common hoof diseases - their signs and symptoms
Colic, collapse and choke 
Casting and turning a downed horse
Surprising things you can use in first aid – from your own pantry! We'll tell you what mouthwash, egg whites, mashed potatoes and spray Pam are great for!
What's normal and what's abnormal for your horse

You'll work with live horses and practice numerous emergency scenarios in a fun, safe and supportive environment!
