21 Acres Performance Horses is located just 2 miles southwest of Heisler, Alberta. Approx. 45 minutes southeast of Camrose, Alberta. It is owned and operated by Caitlin Gammie and Kevin Van Slyke.
We offer English and Western riding lessons, colt breaking, tune-ups, exercise programs and finishing. Caitlin enjoys doing Working Cow Horse, but has experience in Western Pleasure, Jumping, Dressage, Trail, Reining and All-Around. We focus on training well behaved, versatile horses that anyone can enjoy, whether it's in the show ring or out on the trail. Have a look at our Horses for Sale page to see what we have. Caitlin does most of the training and the colt breaking, while Kevin helps exercise the horses and get them used to other riders, he also exposes the horses to roping. Caitlin has worked under such trainers as Ted Robinson (2x world's greatest horseman and world champion snaffle bit futurity winner) and Vance Kaglea (working cow horse trainer). Caitlin believes in working at each individual horse's pace to create a willing, happy partnership between horse and rider. She also teaches English and Western lessons, helping students develop versatile, willing and well broke horses, as well as confidence in the saddle.
21 Acres is currently a side hobby for Caitlin and Kevin, as they both have full time jobs. It's fueled by Caitlin's childhood dreams of owning and operating a successful equine business and by her passion and love for horses.
