KYLE FISCHER HORSE TRAINING

I am looking to take on new clients during the evenings (or full time if the pay is right) this winter for Colt starting, problem solving, riding lessons and horsemanship lessons. I will travel to you, as I do not have a barn or personal facility yet set up. I do have the option of you trailering to my arena (indoor, heated) as long as horse has 5 way shots, dewormed and strangles vaccine.

The way I train follows 3 principles/rules:

1. Making the wrong thing hard and the right thing easy
2. Take the time it takes for the horse to understand
3. Don’t ask a question the horse doesn’t already have the answer for

I break down what I am teaching into small steps using previously learned answers. I am not a “natural horsemanship” trainer (Nothing natural to the horse about riding him) but I train to give the horse the best deal and as much opportunity to learn as possible. This gets you a willing, calm, athletic and worry free companion that has the confidence to do any discipline you want and enjoys it.

Colt Starting (horse with 0 – under 30 days): $600/Month not including board (4 lessons a week, time depends on horse) with half up front.

Problem Solving (e.g. trailer loading, picking up hooves, head tossing, laziness, bolting, rearing, etc.): $30/hour – Will drop to $25/hour if there are more than one person for the hour!

Riding/horsemanship lessons: $30/hour (this is with you and the horse, or just myself training your horse)
Each horse I train will know the below regardless of discipline. These are things each horse gains though my training program/style:

- loose reined walk, trot, lope (canter)
- neck reining
- halt (stand for mounting, ground tie)
- back up
- side pass
- turn on front, turn on rear
- collected walk, trot, lope (canter)
- extended trot and canter
- Slow off the seat

Once your horse has the basics I can orientate to specific disciplines:

Lower Level Dressage
Beginner Jumping
Reining
Trail Riding
Cow work (if you have access to cows/flag/mechanical it would be better)
Basic Western Pleasure

I like to have the owner/rider spend a few lessons with me and the horse so that both are on the same page if I am to be training the horse without your presence. Horse will require its own tack as well. I do have a few saddles, but my boys are fairly wide withered and saddles may not fit many horses.

Mileage fees will depend on how far I have to drive.
